Cate Blanchett is to star in a new West End stage adaptation of Bette Davis’ iconic film All About Eve.
The film has been adapted for the stage by multi-award winning director Ivo van Hove, who will also direct.
Blanchett will play the legendary Bette Davis role of Margo Channing – a faded Broadway star who is on her guard against an aspiring young actress.
The 1950 six-time Academy Award winning film revitalised Bette Davis’s career and includes one of the most memorable lines of movie dialogue – ‘Fasten your seatbelts. It’s going to be a bumpy night!’
The stage adaptation of All About Eve by van Hove and Jan Versweyveld, follows their adaptations of Luchino Visconti’s Obsession, starring Jude Law, Ingmar Bergman’s Cries And Whispers and Scenes From A Marriage.
All About Eve will open in Spring 2018.
Further casting and theatre to be announced.
