Actress and comedian Miranda Hart is reportedly in advanced discussions to star in ANNIE The Musical at the Piccadilly Theatre.
If it comes off, Hart will play Miss Hannigan, the inebriated harridan who runs the Dickensian-like orphanage where Annie languishes with other unwanted kids. Heart does have some stage experience however this role would be her musical theatre West End debut.
Hart has a special affinity for the musical, at boarding school she used to practice acting out every part of ANNIE, so starring in a West End production would be fulfilling a life long dream. She’s such a fan of the musical sh even included burlesque number Easy Street as one of her eight songs when she appeared on Desert Island Discs.
