In pictures: Romeo and Juliet rehearsal

Rehearsal images have been released for the Kenneth Branagh Theatre Company’s Romeo and Juliet ahead of its opening next month at the Garrick Theatre.

Rob Ashford and Kenneth Branagh’s production stars Lily James and Richard Madden as the star crossed lovers alongside Derek Jacobi as Mercutio and Meera Syal as Nurse.

The full cast includes Marisa Berenson (Lady Capulet), Jack Colgrave Hirst (Benvolio), Tom Hanson (Paris), Matthew Hawksley (Anthony, First Musician, Friar John and Third Guard), Taylor James (Prince), Pip Jordan (Potpan, Second Musician and Second Guard), Ansu Kabia (Tybalt and First Guard), Racheal Ofori (Sampson and Page), Nikki Patel (Balthasar), Chris Porter (Lord Montague), Zoë Rainey (Lady Montague), Michael Rouse (Lord Capulet), Samuel Valentine (Friar Laurence) and Kathryn Wilder (Peter and Apothecary).

Romeo and Juliet runs from 12 May 2016 until 13 August 2016 at the Garrick Theatre. The production will be broadcast live to cinemas across the UK and internationally on 7 July 2016.
