Could Tarantino’s The Hateful Eight end up on the stage?

Quentin Tarantino has revealed plans to turn his hit movie The Hateful Eight into a play.

Tarantino’s latest film The Hateful Eight is a wild west Reservoir Dogs. A quasi-western set in the still-unresolved aftermath of the US civil war, The Hateful Eight sees a bounty hunter and his prisoner find shelter in a cabin inhabited by a collection of nefarious characters.

In reference to the play, Tarantino said “I’ve thought it out completely I’m just waiting for this [2016 awards] season to be over so I can write it. I gotta put myself there and write it for this.” He then revealed it was Harvey Weinstein who encourage him to write the play, even going so far as to say make the play first and then the movie.

The screen to stage production of The Hateful Eight would mark Tarantino’s first foray into the theatre.
