Farinelli and the King release more tickets for fast selling West End transfer.
Further tickets have been released for the highly anticipated West End transfer of Farinelli and the King starring Mark Rylance. Considered one of the greatest actors of all time Rylance plays King Phillipe V of Spain in this sumptuous off-kilter historical comedy-drama which is replete with many of the arias first sung by the celebrated castrato Farinelli.
Interestingly the Duke of York’s theatre will take on a magical atmosphere with scenes lit by candlelight with live Baroque music playing.
Written by Claire van Kampen and directed by John Dove, Farinelli and the King premiered at the Sam Wanamaker Playhouse in 2015 to critical acclaim and will play a strictly limited run from 14 September 2015 until 5 December 2015 at the Duke of York’s theatre.
