Two stars of Six the Musical and Hot Mess have joined forces to record a musical mash-up, released today. Nia Stephens, currently starring in Six, and Danielle Steers, starring in Hot Mess, have recorded a new mash-up of ‘I Don’t Need Your Love’ and ‘Happy’ from the musicals.

Two original British musicals, Six and Hot Mess have come together with the ultimate musical mash-up, released today. Nia Stephen, who currently plays Catherine Parr in the West End production of SIX, and Danielle Steers, who stars as Earth in HOT MESS at The Other Palace, have recorded a new mash-up of I Don’t Need Your Love from SIX and Happy from HOT MESS.

This exciting new mashup has been arranged by musical supervisor of SIX and music supervisor and co-orchestrator of Hot Mess Joe Beighton, and Hot Mess composer, lyricist and co-orchestrator Jack Godfrey.

From Edinburgh Fringe to the West End

Both musicals are currently playing in the West End, but they began their lives at the Edinburgh Fringe.

Written by Toby Marlow and Lucy Moss, Six the Musical premiered as a student production at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2017. Since then, it’s become a global phenomenon, playing in the West End, on Broadway and around the world.

Fresh from a run at Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 2025, Hot Mess was created by Jack Godfrey and Ellie Coote. The musical was a hit, winning a Fringe First Award, the Popcorn Writing Award and Musical Theatre Review’s Best Musical Award.

Nia Stephen is currently making her West End debut in Six as Catherine Parr, a role that Denielle Steers has also played. Steers currently stars in Hot Mess at The Other Palace.
