Following a sold-out world premiere at The Old Vic in 2023, Sylvia: A Musical Revolution will head out on a limited tour before arriving in London at the Royal Albert Hall. Renowned stage legend Beverley Knight MBE will star as Emmeline Pankhurst.

The Olivier-nominated musical Sylvia returns to London this November, with a limited run at the Royal Albert Hall from 13th – 15th November 2026, following a UK Tour. The full cast for the upcoming production has officially been announced, with stage star Beverley Knight reprising her role as Emmeline Pankhurst.

Joining Knight in the production is Naomi Katiyo (Hamilton, Just For One Day: The Live Aid Musical) who will play Sylvia Pankhurst. Sharon Rose was originally slated to take on the role, but she will star as Em in the upcoming West End run of One Day the Musical.

The musical follows the rebellious middle child of Emmeline Pankhurst, Sylvia. Whilst her mother and sister battled for women’s suffrage, Sylvia ignited a revolution for the forgotten: working women, the impoverished, the silenced.

The full cast for the upcoming tour has been announced today, due to stop at six locations across the UK before arriving in London at the Royal Albert Hall.

The cast will include:

  • Beverley Knight MBE as Emmeline Pankhurst

  • Kirstie Skivington as Adela Pankhurst
  • Ellena Vincent as Christabel Pankhurst
  • Solomon Davy as Prime Minister Asquith/Richard Pankhurst
  • Castell Parker as Winston Churchill/George Lansbury
  • Cleve September as Lloyd George/Lord Curzon

The rest of the cast includes Kelly Agbowu (Mrs Flora ‘The General’ Drummond/Betty Savoy), Ebony Clarke (Emily Davison/Daisy Parsons), Eloise Davies (Annie Kenney/Norah Smyth), Collette Guitart (Clementine Churchill/Julia Scurr), Leah Hill (Edith Garrud/Mollie Bird), Tachia Newall (Keir Hardie/Lord Cromer), Uzuazo O’David (Harry Pankhurst), Kenedy Small (Jennie Churchill/Edna Payne/Sophia Singh) and Ivano Turco (Silvio Corio/Sir Almroth Wright).

The swings for the production include Claudia-Rose Carlier, Jaye Marshall, Lauren Azania, Zion Battles and Nathan Louis-Fernand.

Sylvia features an irresistible soundtrack by Josh Cohen and DJ Walde that brings in plenty of hip hop, funk, and soul influences.

The suffragettes at Royal Albert Hall

The Royal Albert Hall has historic links to the Suffragette Movement led by Emmeline Pankhurst and her fellow campaigners. The venue served as the backdrop for some of the most significant speeches and gatherings in the movement’s history.

Between 1908 and 1913, the Hall hosted nearly thirty events linked to the fight for the vote, including meetings for the National League for Opposing Women’s Suffrage. Their first meeting in 1908 packed the venue, with every seat sold, and hundreds turned away at the door.

Eventually, the Suffragettes became the first political group ever to be barred from the Hall, due to rising tensions of the time, though the ban was lifted in 1918, when some women gained the right to vote.

The hit musical making its return to the venue is a nice nod to the presence of such a historical figure, played by such a stage veteran as Beverley Knight.
