The last days of Judy Garland
Directed by Rupert Hands, End of the Rainbow is set in London, 1968. At the legendary Talk of the Town, Judy Garland prepares for a series of concerts that will both captivate and haunt. While the world adores her, behind the glittering spotlight lies a fierce struggle for survival and the relentless drive to perform at any cost.
The production features many of Garland’s most unforgettable songs, including “Over the Rainbow” and “The Trolley Song.”
Peter Quilter’s End of the Rainbow premiered in 2005 at the Sydney Opera House in Australia starring Caroline O’Connor. The show’s UK premiere was at Northampton’s Royal & Derngate Theatre in 2010 starring Tracie Bennett as Judy Garland, and transferred to the West End’s Trafalgar Theatre scoring four Olivier Award nominations.
