Two big new touring musicals have extended their UK and Ireland tour dates, with Andrew Lloyd Webber’s CATS and West End hit Back to the Future visiting more theatres.
Back to the Future is currently playing at the West End’s Adelphi Theatre in London until 12 April; and CATS is coming to Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre this summer 2026.
CATS The Musical
A major new production of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s award-winning musical CATS is starting this summer in London, playing the Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre from 25 July to 12 September 2026.
The new production is directed and choreographed by Regent’s Park’s Artistic Director Drew McOnie (Jesus Christ Superstar, The Artist).
Based on T.S. Eliot’s Old Possum’s Book of Practical Cats, the show boasts a terrific score including Old Deuteronomy, Macavity: The Mystery Cat, Jellicle Ball and the chart-topping hit Memory.
Following London, the show starts its tour at Theatre Royal Plymouth from 6 to 17 October 2026, and then Hull, Birmingham, Manchester, Bristol, Llandudno and Glasgow.
New tour dates announced today include Nottingham, Canterbury, Sunderland, Aberdeen, Norwich, Belfast, Oxford, Southampton, Edinburgh, Bradford, Liverpool, Woking, Cardiff, Milton Keynes, and Newcastle.
Back to the Future The Musical
Smash-hit musical Back to the Future, based on the 1985 movie starring Michael J Fox, has announced further venues for its 2026 and 2027 UK and Ireland tour.
The tour kicks off on 8 October 2026 at the Bristol Hippodrome, and then plays Edinburgh, Liverpool, Milton Keynes, Sunderland and Southampton.
New dates now confirmed include Bradford, Manchester, Plymouth, and Cardiff, with further venues to be announced.
Back to the Future is now in its 5th year in London, with only a few weeks left at the Adelphi Theatre before it closes on 12 April 2026.
The show has picked up a number of Best New Musical awards, including from the Olivier Awards and WhatsOnStage Awards, and has been seen by over 5 million people worldwide.
