Urinetown The Musical is to close early at the Apollo Theatre on 3 January 2015.

Hit musical comedy Urinetown, currently starring comedian Phill Jupitus, has posted early closing notices at the Apollo Theatre.

The show will now close on 3 January 2015.

Directed by Jamie Lloyd, Phill Jupitus plays Caldwell B. Cladwell, alongside Julie Jupp as Penelope Pennywise, Alasdair Buchan as Mr. McQueen, Jonathan Slinger as Officer Lockstock, Matthew Seadon-Young as Bobby Strong, Cory English as Old Man Strong, Madeleine Harland as Soupy Sue, Rosanna Hyland as Hope Cladwell, and Karis Jack as Little Sally.

This fun show, which has been a hit with critics and audiences but failed to find its legs for a long West End run, features music and lyrics by Mark Hollmann and book and lyrics by Greg Kotis.

Coming in to the Apollo Theatre from 17 January 2015 is the West End transfer of the Donmar Warehouse’s revival of Kevin Elyot’s comedy My Night With Reg starring Julian Ovenden. Then from 21 April 2015 Kristin Scott Thomas stars as The Queen in Peter Morgan’s The Audience.
