The European premiere of new musical The Jonathan Larson Project has announced final London casting.

The Jonathan Larson Project will run at Southwark Playhouse Borough from 9 July to 22 August 2026.

The new musical features the songs of the late musicals composer Jonathan Larson (RENT; Tick, Tick… Boom!), and has been conceived by Broadway producer Jennifer Ashley Tepper and directed by John Simpkins (Go, Go Beach).

  • Offstage covers are Georgie Butler and Edward Flynn Haddon

The show promises to offer a rare window into Larson’s creative world, featuring previously unheard songs from the late composer’s archives to shine a new light on the artistry, activism, and restless imagination of one of musical theatre’s most influential voices.

The Jonathan Larson Project originally played Off-Broadway at the Orpheum Theatre. The new musical comes to London marking 30 years since Jonathan Larson sadly died, aged 35.

Jonathan Larson’s hit musical RENT is also coming back to London this year.

The Jonathan Larson Project is produced by Thomas Hopkins Productions and SAMS Entertainment.
