James Swanton brings his new play Sikes & Nancy to the Trafalgar Studios.
A compelling new one-man play written and performed by James Swanton based on the story of Bill Sikes and Nancy from the Charles Dickens classic Oliver Twist.
Based on the legendary reading that Charles Dickens himself used to give, Swanton tells the compelling and terrible story of Dickens’ most famous murder.
Swanton gives a tour-de-force performance of this Gothic melodrama, transforming in front of the audiences eyes from the revolting Fagin to the unfortunate Nancy, from the righteous Brownlow to the ferocious and terrifying Sikes.
This is bravura storytelling at its most exciting, dark, physical and brutish.
