I’m Not Being Funny is the hilarious new play at the Bush Theatre about a couple attempting to write a stand-up routine as they confront the cracks in their relationship.

She’s signed them both up. Her and her husband. For stand-up comedy!

So tonight, they’re locking themselves in their living room until they’ve got a ‘tight five’, delving through their past for material. But some jokes hurt, and laughter isn’t always the best medicine…

Written by Piers Black (Catching Comets), and directed by Bryony Shanahan (Bloody Elle), I’m Not Being Funny is an exciting new play about hope, endings and how to survive if a knock knock joke hits you in the gut!

The show stars Tia Bannon (Seven Methods of Killing Kylie Jenner) as Wendy, and Jerome Yates (Pinocchio) as Peter.

I’m Not Being Funny is playing at the Bush Theatre in London from 7 May to 13 June 2026.
