The Kinks musical on track for West End opening

Sunny Afternoon, the musical featuring the music of Sixties band The Kinks led by Ray Davies, may be heading to the West End.

The show did well at Hampstead Theatre and a stint at the Harold Pinter Theatre may be on the cards this autumn.

Sunny Afternoon boasts music and lyrics by Ray Davies, a book by award-winning playwright Joe Penhall (Blue/Orange) and direction by Edward Hall, and explores the euphoric highs and agonising lows of one of Britain’s most iconic bands and the irresistible music that influenced generations.
