Written by Olivier Award-winner Sam Grabiner (Boys on the Verge of Tears), Christmas Day stars Nigel Lindsay (The Lehman Trilogy), Bel Powley (The Real Thing, Harry Potter), Samuel Blenkin (Hamlet Hail to the Thief), Jamie Ankrah (Small Island), Callie Cooke (The Strange Death of John Doe), Jacob Fortune-Lloyd (The Importance of Being Earnest), and Jessica Brindle (Emma, Top Girls).
The production is directed by James Macdonald (Waiting for Godot, Juniper Blood).

Christmas Day is billed as a viciously funny new play about identity, belonging and the rituals we perform with the people we love.
There’s something perverted about a Christmas tree. They’ve got an aura. It looks perverted and it gives me the creeps. In an abandoned building somewhere above the Northern Line, with foxes prowling the deserted streets outside, a Jewish family gathers on Christmas Day.
The wider creative team for Christmas Day includes Set Designer Miriam Buether; Costume Designer Evie Gurney; Lighting Designer Jon Clark; Sound Designer Max Pappenheim; Intimacy Director Lucy Hind; Casting Director Amy Ball CDG; and Voice Coach Hazel Holder.

Now Playing at the Almeida
Currently playing at the Almeida Theatre is Jack Holden’s new stage adaptation of Alan Hollinghurst’s The Line of Beauty directed by Michael Grandage, running until 29 November 2025.
Coming up in the West End is the Almeida’s acclaimed production of 1536 by Ava Pickett, which is transferring to the Ambassadors Theatre in London from 2 May to 1 August 2026.
