Olivier and Tony Award-winner Nicole Scherzinger (Sunset Boulevard), Hollywood star and Emmy-winner Jennifer Coolidge (The White Lotus), and Olivier Award-winner Sheridan Smith (Shirley Valentine, Cilla) are set to star in Rebel Wilson’s forthcoming movie comedy Girl Group.

Written by, directed, produced and starring Rebel Wilson, Girl Group sees Rebel Wilson play a pop-diva who’s been kicked out of her own girl group’s reunion tour and slapped with a sentence of court-ordered community service. She seizes the chance to stage a comeback by coaching a group of misfit teen girls for a major record label audition.

Now in production for Live Nation Studios and Future Artists Entertainment, the film is choreographed by Wicked choreographer Chris Scott.

An impressive cast ensemble for the film includes Randall Park (WandaVision), Jamie Lee O’Donnell (Derry Girls), comedian Guz Khan (The Gentleman) and Jolene Blalock (Star Trek: Enterprise).

The movie will also feature cameos from Pussycat Doll Ashley Roberts, Spice Girl Melanie Chisholm and All Saints’ Shaznay Lewis – who will form girl band Girlfriends alongside Wilson’s character. Loren Gray will also star.

Later this year, Sheridan Smith is set to return to the London stage in a major revival of Alan Ayckbourn’s Woman in Mind at the Duke of York’s Theatre in the West End.

Nicole Scherzinger recently played sold-out concerts at the Royal Albert Hall in London and Carnegie Hall in New York.
