West End leading lady and TV star Sheridan Smith has thrown her hat into the ring and for a potential new West End role!
The Woman in Mind, Funny Girl and Legally Blonde star told Gaby Roslin on her Magic FM Saturday radio show that she has her sights on the rumoured West End run of Death Becomes Her!
When Gaby asked Sheridan what show she plans to star in next, Sheridan said: “Weirdly, I was thinking I’d love to do another, like, Legally Blonde type musical – you know, a big, camp, fun one.”
Sheridan then hits fans with the news that, “I know they’re bringing Death Becomes Her off from Broadway over”, suggesting that she’d love to take part.
“I’m doing it for the gays!” (or maybe, ‘For the Gaze’ – a hit song from the show!), she joked in a mock audition with Gaby, with Roslin proclaiming that Sheridan’s “got the job”!

Death Becomes Her to London?
Based on the iconic 1992 film, Death Becomes Her is the wickedly funny musical comedy that’s been a huge hit on Broadway.
Packed with razor-sharp humour, outrageous glamour and supernatural chaos, the show follows frenemies Madeline and Helen as they drink a mysterious potion promising eternal youth – with grotesque and hilarious consequences!

Directed and choreographed by Tony Award-winner Christopher Gattelli, with a book by Marco Pennette and a score by Julia Mattison and Noel Carey, this is the kind of big, brash musical theatre that the West End loves!
