Photo Update: A new poster has been released for forthcoming musical Made in Dagenham at the Adelphi Theatre starring Gemma Arterton.
The big new musical of the Autumn season in the West End is Made in Dagenham – starting previews at the Adelphi Theatre from 9 October 2014.
And producers have released a new poster for the show.

Baz Bamigboye in the Daily Mail today (19 September 2014), said that “director Rupert Goold has cast the show with sublime actors” – and we couldn’t agree more.
“I think Gemma will be doing big musicals in 20 to 30 years’ time” Rupert Goold
The lead role of Rita (played by Sally Hawkins in the film version) will be played by British movie and stage actress Gemma Arterton (The Voices, Tamara Drewe, Quantum of Solace, St Trinian’s), with a strong supporting cast including hot newcomer Adrian der Gregorian (Mr Burns, Rocky Horror Show) as Eddie, veteran stage actress Isla Blair as Connie and Beautiful Thing’s Sophie Stanton.
The show is directed by award-winning director Rupert Goold, who currently has a hit running in the West End with King Charles III at the Wyndham’s Theatre. He said to the Mail that Gemma Arterton is, “so beautiful, and obviously film-starry, but she’s also an accomplished stage actress… I think Gemma will be doing big musicals in 20 to 30 years’ time — and that’s not true of all young actresses.”
The show’s writers include West End man-of-the-moment Richard Bean (One Man, Two Guvnors, Great Britain), with musica by James Bond composer David Arnold and lyrics by Jerry Springer The Opera’s Richard Thomas.
