Further casting has been announced for the world premiere of Small Hotel at Theatre Royal Bath, which is part of Ralph Fiennes’ season at the theatre.
Small Hotel is playing at the Theatre Royal Bath from 3 to 18 October 2025.
Already announced in the cast is award-winner Ralph Fiennes (Conclave; Harry Potter; James Bond; Macbeth) and BAFTA winner Francesca Annis (Cleopatra, Cranford, Roman Polanski’s Macbeth).
They will be joined by stage and screen star Rosalind Eleazar (Slow Horses, The House of Bernarda Alba) and Olivier Award nominee Rachel Tucker (The Great Gatsby, Come From Away, Wicked).
Further casting is to be announced.
Small Hotel is a new play by acclaimed playwright and screenwriter Rebecca Lenkiewicz (Her Naked Skin), and directed by Holly Race Roughan (A View from the Bridge).
In Small Hotel, Ralph Fiennes plays Larry, an acclaimed TV celebrity whose life and career are rapidly unravelling. As he is forced to unpick his past, we meet a collection of unforgettable characters including Larry’s troubled twin brother Richard, his unpredictable former lover, actress Marianne (Rosalind Eleazar), and his domineering mother Athena (Francesca Annis).
Joining Holly Race Roughan in the creative team for Small Hotel are Set Designer Bob Crowley, Costume Designer Loren Elstein, Lighting Designer Sally Ferguson, Composer & Sound Designer Max Pappenheim, Movement Director Sarah Fahie, Video Designer Luke Halls, Hair & Makeup Designer Susanna Peretz, Casting Director Amy Ball CDG, Associate Director Emily Ling Williams, Associate Set Designer Rosalind Coombes, and Intimacy Co-ordinator Haruka Kuroda.
The Ralph Fiennes season at the Theatre Royal Bath
Currently playing at Theatre Royal Bath as part of Ralph Fiennes’ season of plays is As You Like It, directed by Fiennes, and starring Olivier Award-winner Dame Harriet Walter as Jaques, and Gloria Obianyo (Paradise, Andor) as Rosalind, with comedian Dylan Moran (Black Books) as Touchstone, Patrick Robinson (Casualty) as Duke Senior and Duke Frederick, and Charlie Rowe (The Golden Compass) as Orlando.
As You Like It is playing at the Theatre Royal Bath until 6 September 2025.
The season started in June with the world premiere of David Hare’s new play Grace Pervades, starring Ralph Fiennes as the legendary actor-manager Henry Irving alongside Miranda Raison (Spooks) as his wife Ellen Terry.
Directed by Jeremy Herrin, it was announced earlier this month that Grace Pervades will transfer to the West End’s Theatre Royal Haymarket in April 2026.
Ralph Fiennes is also starring in new film The Choral by Alan Bennett, directed by Nicholas Hytner. A new trailer for the film, which is out in UK cinemas in November, was released last week.
Rachel Tucker is current starring in the West End production of The Great Gatsby at the London Coliseum, until 7 September.
Small Hotel is running at the Theatre Royal from 3 to 18 October 2025.
