Jamie Lloyd’s hit musical The Commitments is to get a cast change at the Palace Theatre.

From today, 16 September 2014, Brian Gilligan takes over from Killian Donnelly in the lead role of Deco.

Associate director C Jay Ranger discovered Brian Gilligan by hearing him sing backstage at the Palalce Theatre when he was playing drummer Billy ‘The Animal’ Mooney in the show, and thought he would make a great lead.

John Currivan is now playing Mooney in the musical, making his West End debut in the role.

Also joining the cast are Anthony Hunt as Joey ‘The Lips’ Fagan, Sam Fordham as Mickah, Natalie Hope as Natalie and John McLarnon as Outspan.

The Commitments is based on Roddy Doyle’s acclaimed novel and the subsequent Alan Parker movie.
