New The Kinks musical Sunny Afternoon has announced that it is extending its run at the Harold Pinter Theatre.

The new musical, which had a successful run at Hampstead Theatre, transfers into the West End’s Harold Pinter Theatre from 4 October 2014.

The show is now booking until 31 January 2015.

The auditorium of the Harold Pinter Theatre is being reconfigured to allow cabaret-style table seating to be available for the show.

Sunny Afternoon tells the story of the early life of Ray Davies and the rise of hit 60’s band The Kinks and features music and lyrics by Ray Davies, a new book by Joe Penhall and direction by Edward Hall.

The talented cast includes John Dagleish as Ray Davies, George Maguire as Dave Davies, Ned Derrington as Pete Quaife and Adam Sopp as Mick Avory.

Songs featured in the musical include You Really Got Me, Waterloo Sunset and Lola.
