Rehearsals are under way for big new autumn musical Made in Dagenham, coming to the Adelphi Theatre from 9 October 2014.
Based on the hit British film starring Sally Hawkins, the central role of Rita is played by hot British actress Gemma Arterton (The Voices, Tamara Drewe, Quantum of Solace, St Trinian’s).
Other cast include Adrian der Gregorian (Mr Burns, Rocky Horror Show) as Eddie, Isla Blair as Connie and David Cardy as Monty, plus Gareth Snook, Steve Furst, Mark Hadfield, Sophie-Louise Dann and Naomi Frederick. Also Sophie Stanton, Heather Craney, Sophie Isaacs, Julius D’Silva, Naana Agyei-Ampadu, Thomas Aldridge, Kate Coysten, Christopher Howell, Scott Garnham, Ian Jervis, Paul Kemble, Emma Lindars, Jo Napthine, Tracey Penn, Gemma Salter, Rachel Spurrell, Emily Squibb, Karli Vale and Rene Zagger.
Directed by Almeida Theatre artistic director Rupert Goold (King Charles III, Enron), Made in Dagenham has a book by Richard Bean (One Man, Two Guvnors, Great Britain), music by David Arnold (the Bond movies) and lyrics by Richard Thomas (Jerry Spring The Opera).
