Cirque du Soleil’s dazzling insect-inspired spectacle OVO returns to London in 2026, running at the Royal Albert Hall from 9 January to 1 February. The engagement will mark the company’s 30th anniversary of performing in London — a major milestone in its UK journey.
First seen in the UK at the Royal Albert Hall in 2018, OVO has already captivated over 4.5 million people worldwide since its premiere in Montreal in 2009. A riot of colour, energy, and gravity-defying acrobatics, the show immerses audiences in a vibrant ecosystem where insects crawl, flutter, leap and love.
The story follows a curious blue insect who stumbles into a bustling bug community and falls head-over-wings for a charismatic ladybug. Set to a live Brazilian-inspired score and performed by a cast of over 50 artists from 12 countries, the production features signature Cirque artistry — most notably the Flying Act, in which scarabs soar across the stage with breathtaking precision.

OVO’s 2026 run follows this year’s production of Corteo, which played the Royal Albert Hall from 9 January to 2 March. A dreamlike meditation on life and memory through the eyes of a clown named Mauro, Corteo introduced a new staging format offering audiences both a traditional view and a performer’s perspective — adding a fresh layer of theatrical immersion.
Long established as Cirque’s London home, the Royal Albert Hall will soon be joined by a more permanent base in the West End. On 28 April 2025, Camden Council approved the redevelopment of the Grade II-listed Saville Theatre on Shaftesbury Avenue into a state-of-the-art venue that will become Cirque du Soleil’s first permanent home in the UK.
Speaking in 2024, Eric Grilly, President of Cirque du Soleil Entertainment Group, said the venue would “complement Cirque du Soleil’s annual Royal Albert Hall residency and offer theatre-goers a more intimate space to enjoy incredible performances all year round.”
