One of the highlights of the West End year, The National Lottery’s Big Night of Musicals is broadcast tonight, 22 March 2025, on BBC One at 6.50pm.

Hosted by comedian Jason Manford, the star-studded evening of musical theatre, which ran at the AO Arena in Manchester on 27 January, features performances from West End stars including Michael Ball, Marisha Wallace, Layton Williams, Luke Brady and Carrie Hope Fletcher.
West End and touring shows featured during the evening include Cabaret, Disney’s Hercules, Titanique, Mean Girls The Musical, Calamity Jane, Here & Now – The Steps Musical, Chicago, Dear Evan Hansen, Mary Poppins, and Bat Out of Hell The Musical.
The full line-up for the show was announced in January.

Headline performances at the Big Night of Musicals 2025
- The spectacular evening sees some truly amazing performances from shows in the West End, including a breathtaking performance of ‘Maybe This Time’ by Marisha Wallace from Cabaret, introduced by her co-star Billy Porter
- Fans are also treated to an exclusive preview of the brand-new Disney’s Hercules starring Luke Brady, which is coming to the West End this summer, with a spectacular performance of ‘Zero to Hero’ and ‘Go The Distance’
- West End superstar Michael Ball makes a special appearance during the night, singing ‘The Impossible Dream’ alongside National Lottery-funded charity Our Dementia Choir, founded by actress, producer and presenter Vicky McClure MBE (Line of Duty)
- Other show-stopping performances come from the West End cast of Titanique, including Lauren Drew and Layton Williams, performed ‘I’m Alive’, ‘Taking Chances’ and ‘My Heart Will Go On’
- West End star Carrie Hope Fletcher sings a medley of the most popular songs from Calamity Jane, which is currently touring the UK and Ireland
- Georgina Castle performs ‘World Burn’ from the smash hit West End musical Mean Girls The Musical
- There are performances from the current touring productions of Here & Now – The Steps Musical, Chicago, Dear Evan Hansen, and Mary Poppins, who take over the stage to sing ‘Supercalafragalistic’
- Rounding off the evening in true theatrical style, the cast of Jim Steinman’s Bat Out of Hell The Musical bring the curtain down with a brilliant medley of ‘Dead Ringer for Love’ and ‘Anything For Love’ from the hit show
