Bush Theatre has announced an ambitious programme for its 2025/26 season, featuring an array of bold new works, major star power, and an ongoing commitment to talent development. This marks the final season programmed by outgoing Artistic Director Lynette Linton, with incoming Artistic Director Taio Lawson set to take the reins this summer.
Highlights include Miss Myrtle’s Garden (31 May – 12 July 2025) by Danny James King and directed by Taio Lawson, a heartwarming and witty exploration of the past.
Golda Rosheuvel (Bridgerton) and Letitia Wright (Black Panther) will star in Superwoman Schema (6 September – 25 October) by Emma Dennis-Edwards, a drama about two women grappling with loss, directed by Lynette Linton. Read more about Superwoman Schema.
The season continues with After Sunday (10 November – 20 December 2025), written by Sophia Griffin and directed by Corey Campbell, and set in a Caribbean cooking class in a secure hospital.
Also, Sweetmeats (7 February – 21 March 2026), a story of forbidden love between two South Asian elders, co-produced with Tara Theatre, written by Karim Khan and directed by Natasha Kathi-Chandra.
HEART WALL (4 April – 16 May 2026) is by Bush Writers’ Group alum Kit Withington, rounds off the lineup with a poignant family drama.
The Bush Studio will feature a mix of productions from emerging and established companies, including Insane Asylum Seekers (8 May – 7 June 2025), Horse of Jenin (20 November – 20 December 2025), and Maggots (27 January – 28 February 2026), alongside ALT B Sessions, an experimental platform showcasing spoken word, comedy, and interdisciplinary performances.
Linton reflected on her tenure, stating, “Running the Bush Theatre has been one of the biggest honours of my life. We have disrupted the canon with over 50 productions from British and Irish writers, and I am immensely proud of this final season.”
Bush Theatre has renamed its Emerging Writers’ Group as the Bush Writers’ Group and the 2025 cohort has been announced as: Wisdom Charis, Sara Dawood, Josh Dhillon, Ashlee Elizabeth-Lolo, Kathryn Golding, Roberta Livingston, and Razak Osman.
