Full casting has been announced for the UK première of Neil LaBute’s How to Fight Loneliness, opening at Park Theatre in London.
Running from 16 April to 24 May 2025, LaBute’s new play explores the complexities of relationships when faced with crisis. Jodie and Brad seem to have the perfect life, but when confronted with a devastating challenge, they turn to an enigmatic figure from Jodi’s past.
Described as “dark and dazzling,” the play continues LaBute’s tradition of exploring human relationships with unflinching honesty. Speaking about the production, LaBute said: “No Hollywood end to this. No last-minute rescue. This… right here… with you… is the best chance I’ve got.”
Archie Backhouse (Strategic Love Play, Farm Hall, The Sandman) stars as Brad, with Justina Kehinde (Best of Enemies, Girl from the North Country) as Jodie and Morgan Watkins (A Very English Scandal, Noughts & Crosses, Mother Courage and Her Children, Kingsman: The Secret Service) as Tate.
Directed by Lisa Spirling, the production reunites LaBute with producer Trish Wadley, who previously collaborated with him on The Shape of Things at Park Theatre. Spirling previously worked as his Associate Director on In a Forest Dark and Deep in the West End.
The creative team includes Set and Costume Designer Mona Camille, Lighting Designer Chuma Emembolu, and Sound Designer Roly Botha.

Currently playing at Park Theatre, Farewell Mister Haffmann receives its London premiere in this gripping wartime drama set in Nazi-occupied Paris. Blending dark humour and suspense, the original French-language production is one of France’s longest-running plays and won four Molière Awards.
The cast features Michael Fox (Downton Abbey), Jemima Rooper (As If), and Nigel Harman (EastEnders, Shrek the Musical). At Park Theatre until 12 April.
