Producers of Mary Poppins have announced further venues for the show’s UK and Ireland tour.
The show is currently playing in Edinburgh until 15 February, and then visits Plymouth, Manchester, Bradford, Birmingham, Southampton, Sunderland, and Milton Keynes. See all tour dates here.
Announced today are the tour’s further two stops: Wales Millennium Centre in Cardiff for a Christmas run from 3 December 2025 to 10 January 2026; and a stop at Liverpool’s Empire Theatre from 14 to 31 January 2026.
Produced by Cameron Mackintosh and Disney Theatrical Group, the tour started at the Bristol Hippodrome in November.
Mary Poppins stars Stefanie Jones as Mary Poppins and Jack Chambers as Bert, who both starred in the Australian production of the show.
They are joined by Michael D. Xavier (Into the Woods, Love Story) as George Banks, Lucie-Mae Sumner (Mary Poppins, Barnum) as Winifred Banks, Rosemary Ashe (The Phantom of the Opera, The Witches of Eastwick) as Mrs Brill, Patti Boulaye (Carmen Jones) as Bird Woman, Wendy Ferguson (Les Misérables) as Miss Andrew, Sonia Swaby (Oliver!, Miss Saigon) as Mrs Corry and Miss Smythe, Ruairidh McDonald (Matilda The Musical) as Robertson Ay, and David Burrows (Half a Sixpence, My Fair Lady) as Admiral Boom and Bank Chairman.
The children are played by Olivia Ainsworth, Olaya Martinez Cambon, Matilda O’Sullivan, Katie Ryden and Florence Amelia Swann will alternate the role of Jane Banks with Charlie Donald, Jude Martin-Thomas, Oscar McCulloch, Joshua Miles and William Stafford alternating the role of Michael Banks.
The company is completed by Jay Luca Allan, Marianne Bardgett, Rhys Batten, Lydia Boulton, Ben Culleton, Jasmine Davis, Matthew Dawkins, Lily de-la-Haye, Nathan Elwick, Darcy Finden, Lyndsey Gardiner, Ryan Gover, Emma Harrold, Billy Mahoney, Sarah-Marie Maxwell, Yujin Park, Roan Pronk, Henry Rhodes, Jacob Ritzema, Scarlet Roche, Callum Rose, Charlie Waddell, Rachael Ward, Jemima-Jane Willcox, James Wolstenholme and Ellie Young.
The current cast will be performing up to the Bradford dates, which end on 29 June 2025. Further casting is to be announced.
Based on the stories of P.L. Travers and The Walt Disney film, songs in the show include classic Sherman Brothers songs Jolly Holiday, Step in Time, Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious and Feed the Birds, with new songs and additional music and lyrics by the Olivier award-winning British team of George Stiles and Anthony Drewe.
Last year was the 20th anniversary of the acclaimed Mary Poppins stage show, which has won 50 international awards, including two Olivier Awards and one Tony Award, with over 15 million people seeing the show.
The UK & Ireland Tour is directed by James Powell with choreography recreated by Richard Jones and musical supervision by Stephen Brooker.
The show’s book is by Julian Fellowes and this production is co-created by Cameron Mackintosh. The creative team also includes orchestrations by William David Brohn, dance and vocal arrangements by George Stiles, sound design by Paul Gatehouse, lighting design by Hugh Vanstone, projections by Luke Hall, illusions by Paul Kieve & Jim Steinmeyer, set and costume designs by Bob Crowley, co-Choreography by Stephen Mear, co-direction and choreography by Matthew Bourne and direction by Richard Eyre.
Mary Poppins is now touring the UK and Ireland.
