Self Esteem AKA Rebecca Lucy Taylor has announced a theatrical presentation of her forthcoming new album A Complicated Woman.
The new show, A Complicated Woman Live, will play the Duke of York’s Theatre in London from 16 to 19 April 2025.
Created by Rebecca Lucy Taylor and Tony award-winning designer Tom Scutt, who will also direct the show, A Complicated Woman Live is billed as an ambitious, “quasi-theatrical experience” that harnesses the power and energy of a gig but presents it through a theatrical format.
The creative team also includes Choreography by Stuart Rogers, Musical Direction by Mike Park, Lighting Design by Matt Daw, Sound Design by Max & Ben Ringham, Associate Direction and Movement by Jenny Ogilvie, and Associate Costume by Lucy Martin.
Alongside being an acclaimed musician, Self Esteem is also an actor, having starred in Sky series Smothered, and played Sally Bowles in Cabaret at the Kit Kat Club in London, alongside Jake Shears as The Emcee.
Self Esteem will release her new album A Complicated Woman on 25 April. The album is the follow up to the hugely acclaimed BRIT and Mercury Prize-nominated 2021 album Prioritise Pleasure.
Pre-ordering the A Complicated Woman album before 10am on 3 February will gain access to a limited pre-sale of tickets. Tickets also go on general sale at 10am on 5 February.
