Due to popular demand, RENT has extended its highly anticipated run. Originally playing at the Duke of York’s Theatre (soon to be The Tom Stoppard Theatre) from 26 September 2026 – 13 February 2027, the hit musical will now run until 27 March 2027.

Announced earlier this year, RENT is set to return to the West End in a brand-new anniversary production. It’s been 30 years since Jonathan Larson’s iconic award winning musical first arrived on Broadway.

Due to popular demand, an extension has been announced, adding an extra 6 weeks to the run. The hit musical is now booking until 27 March 2027.

This bold new production, directed by Luke Sheppard (& Juliet, Paddington The Musical) is already been poised to be the hot ticket this season, so book your tickets now so you don’t miss out.

The legacy of RENT

The musical was written by Jonathan Larson, who tragically passed away the night before the first preview of the show. Though RENT is based on the Puccini opera La Boheme, Larson drew from his real life, from the diners he frequented to the very real impact of the HIV/AIDS epidemic.

Once the show premiered at the appropriately run down Nederlander Theatre, it took on a life of its own, running for 12 years on Broadway and winning numerous awards.
