Punchdrunk and the National Theatre’s acclaimed production The Drowned Man: A Hollywood Fable is to end its run at the Temple Studios on 6 July 2014.
After running for a year at a converted warehouse space in Paddington, and having played to over 170,000 people, the show is to end its run in July.
Punchdrunk has transformed an enormous building next to Paddington Station into a fictional film powerhouse called the Temple Studios for the show.
Audiences are immersed into the seedy Hollywood underworld and the long-forgotten Hollywood studio system, exploring this vast space for themselves.
A number of high-profile actors and celebrities have visited the show including Lily Allen, Michael Sheen, Emily Blunt, Derren Brown, Matt Smith, Madonna, Adele, James Corden, Benedict Cumberbatch, Daisy Lowe, Zooey Deschanel, Marion Cotillard, Aaron Paul, Ellie Goulding and Kirsten Dunst. Florence Welch and Andrew Garfield have even given cameo performances in the show.
Inspired by Büchner’s masterpiece Woyzeck, The Drowned Man: A Hollywood Fable is directed by Felix Barrett and Maxine Doyle, with choreography by Maxine Doyle.
