Further casting has been announced for the 2025 UK tour of The Girl on the Train.

Love Island and Celeb Juice host, actress, and broadcaster Laura Whitmore will take on the role of Rachel Watson – portrayed by Emily Blunt in the Dreamworks film – during the final leg of the UK tour.

The tour opens at Richmond Theatre on 13th January 2025, starring the previously announced Giovanna Fletcher.

Whitmore’s performances in this gripping thriller, adapted from Paula Hawkins’ internationally acclaimed number one best-seller, begin at Brighton’s Theatre Royal on Tuesday, 3rd June 2025, and continue until her return to Dublin’s Bord Gáis Energy Theatre at the end of August.

A successful radio and television broadcaster, Whitmore is best known for hosting MTV, the BAFTA-winning Love Island, the I’m A Celebrity spin-off show, Celeb Juice, and her ITV breakfast show. In 2022, she made her West End debut as Jenny in 2.22: A Ghost Story, and she reprised the role in Dublin in 2024.

Earlier this year, Whitmore joined Comic Relief’s ‘Snow Way Back’ Arctic Trek, raising funds for Red Nose Day, documented in a primetime BBC One special.

On joining the tour, Whitmore said: “I read the book when it first came out and was completely captivated. I love it when a story consumes you – where you wake up early to read more or stay up late to finish. I’m excited to share my portrayal of Rachel next summer.”

The international phenomenon – which has sold over 20 million copies worldwide and inspired a record-breaking 2019 theatrical tour – has been adapted for the stage by Rachel Wagstaff and Duncan Abel, with direction by Loveday Ingram.
