The new UK tour of The Girl on the Train is to star I’m a Celebrity … Get Me Out of Here winner Giovanna Fletcher.

Giovanna Fletcher will play Rachel Watson in the stage drama, the role played by Emily Blunt in the hit movie.

Fletcher will star in the show on the tour’s initial dates – at Richmond Theatre London, Nottingham, Glasgow, Norwich, Salford, Bath, Malvern, Sheffield, Shrewsbury, Bromley and Cheltenham. Further casting is to be announced.

The Girl on the Train is adapted from Paula Hawkins’ best-selling novel by Rachel Wagstaff and Duncan Abel, and directed by Loveday Ingram.

Giovanna Fletcher’s other stage credits include the UK tour of Wish You Were Dead, and 2:22 A Ghost Story. She is also a hugely successful writer, podcaster and influencer. In 2020, Giovanna won ITV’s I’m a Celebrity … Get Me Out of Here.

The tour kicks off at Richmond Theatre in London on 13 January 2025, and visits Nottingham, Glasgow, Norwich, Salford, Sheffield, Shrewsbury, Bromley, Cheltenham, Woking, Birmingham, Southend, Liverpool, Leicester, Cardiff, Brighton, Milton Keynes, Aberdeen, and Leeds.

Actor Giovanna Fletcher said in a statement: “I am delighted to be leading the company of The Girl on the Train as Rachel Watson at venues across the UK next year. Paula Hawkin’s psychological thriller has gripped millions of readers worldwide with its Hitchcockian tale of suspense and mystery. What better place than the theatre to take us through its voyeuristic window and deep into Rachel’s story?”
