Southwark Playhouse Elephant has announced that new musical Scissorhandz: A Musical Reinvented is coming to the South London venue in January.
A musical reboot of Tim Burton’s Edward Scissorhands, the pop musical parody will play Southwark Playhouse Elephant from 23 January to 29 March 2025.
The show’s jukebox score features songs from Lady Gaga, Taylor Swift, Alanis Morissette and more.
Scissorhandz is written and directed by Bradley Bredeweg, who also produces the show with Kelley Parker and Brian Pendleton, and co-producers Lance Bass and Michelle Visage.
The musical, originally called Scissorhands: A Musical Tribute, premiered at LA’s The Bourbon Room in December 2023
The wider creative team includes choreography by Alexzandra Sarmiento, musical direction by Gregory Nabours, set design by James Pearse Connelly, costume design by Abby Clarke, lighting design by Adam King, sound design by Yvonne Gilbert, casting by Harry Blumenau Casting, production management by James Anderton, and general management by Wildpark Entertainment.
Scissorhandz is running at Southwark Playhouse Elephant from 23 January to 29 March 2025.

Our thrill ride of a show is packed with joy and heart, and it’s about owning exactly who you are, even if you happen to have scissors for hands.
