Further casting has been announced for Wolves on Road at the Bush Theatre, Beru Tessema’s new play directed by Daniel Bailey.
Already announced are Kieran Taylor-Ford (For Black Boys…) as Manny, and Hassan Najid (Dune: Part Two) as Abdul, with Alma Eno (Small Island) as Fevan and Ery Nzaramba (Othellomacbeth) as Markos.
They will be joined by guest actors playing the role of Devlin, with Jamael Westman (Hamilton, London Tide, Patriots) playing the role from 9 – 23 November 2024; and Tom Moutchi (Criminal Record, Gladiator 2) from 9 – 21 December 2024. Further Devlin casting for 25 November – 7 December 2024 is to be announced.
Wolves on Road is billed as a fast, funny, and furious new play that takes a deep-dive into the mysterious world of crypto-currency, revealing how ambition and hope can be exploited.
This world premiere by Bush Theatre Emerging Writers Group Alumnus Beru Tessema (Exile in North Weezy, House of Ife, Letting Go) is a co-production with Tamasha and directed by Daniel Bailey (Red Pitch, August in England).
Joining Daniel Bailey in the creative team are: Set & Costume Design by Amelia Jane Hankin; Lighting Design by Ali Hunter; Sound Design & Composition by Duramaney Kamara; Video Design by Gino Ricardo Green; Movement Direction by Gabrielle Nimo; Casting by Polly Jerrold; and Dramaturgy by Titilola Dawudu.
Director Daniel Bailey said in a statement: “I feel doubly blessed. Not only do I get to direct Beru’s brilliant script with a fantastic company of actors at the Bush, but I’ve also been given the opportunity to work with three of the most exciting actors in the UK. Tom and Jamael will bring very different qualities to the role of Devlin and I can’t wait for them to join rehearsals and for us and audiences to discover more.”
Wolves on Road is playing at the Bush Theatre from 9 November to 21 December 2024.
Daniel Bailey is associate artistic director of the Bush Theatre. In September he announced he is leaving the Bush, along with artistic director Lynette Linton.
Currently playing at the Bush Theatre is The Real Ones to 26 October; and Statues to 9 November. Coming up is Tender from 19 November to 21 December,
