Award-winning Slava’s Snowshow is getting a short UK tour before it opens in the West End this Christmas.
The show will play Sunderland Empire from 3 to 7 December 2024, and the Theatre Royal Brighton from 11 to 15 December, before running at the West End’s Harold Pinter Theatre in London from 18 December 2024 to 12 January 2025.
Award-winning entertainer Slava Polunin leads an international company from Italy, France, Ireland, Ukraine, Spain, USA and Canada.
Slava’s Snowshow debuted in the UK in 1996 at the Edinburgh Festival, and has gone on to play over 800 performances across the UK to over 1 million people, including a number of years at the Royal Festival Hall in London.
Slava’s SnowShow is a visual and musical extravaganza, set within an absurd and surrealistic world of ‘fools on the loose’. Each scene is a work of art, painting a surreal picture, including an unlikely shark swimming in a misty sea; clowns and the audience tangled up in a gigantic spider’s web; heart-breaking goodbyes with a coat rack on a railway platform; giant balloons; and an out-of-this-world snowstorm!
Creator of the show Slava Polunin said in a statement: “London has a truly central place in my heart, as the city where I truly launched my international career, when I first brought SnowShow back in the mid-90s. Britain is where I find the greatest tradition of theatre, pantomime and clowning – the likes of Charlie Chaplin and Monty Python were inspirational for me – it feels like coming home.”
Slava’s Snowshow is playing at the Harold Pinter Theatre from 18 December 2024 to 12 January 2025.
