Acclaimed West End and Broadway show Moulin Rouge! The Musical has revealed new casting for its London run at the Piccadilly Theatre.
The award-winning musical is currently booking at the West End’s Piccadilly Theatre to 18 January 2025.
New cast announced today are Natalie Kassanga (Crazy for You, Dreamgirls) as Satine, with Craig Ryder (Priscilla Queen of the Desert) as Harold Zidler.
Dom Simpson (The Book of Mormon) will continue in the principal role of Christian.
Also new to the show are Dex Lee (The Scottsboro Boys) as Toulouse-Lautrec; Helen K Wint (Oklahoma!), joining Hannah Jay-Allan (Beautiful), in alternating the role of Arabia; and Matteo Johnson (Bat Out of Hell) as Baby Doll.
The show also continues to star Ben Richards (Emmerdale) as The Duke, Ivan De Freitas (& Juliet) as Santiago, Charlotte Gooch (Dirty Dancing) as Nini, Bernadette Bangura as La Chocolat, and Angela Marie Hurst as Alternate Satine.
Full casting also includes Oliver Adam-Reynolds, Takaiyah Bailey, Erin Bell, Emily Bolland, Ross Chisari, Athena Collins, James Davies-Williams, Katie Deacon, Serenar Douch, Rola Elliott, Myles Hart, Grace Hawksworth, Maiya Hikasa, Melvin LeBlanc, Tom Mather, Kira McPherson, Paul Mukembo, Dean Read, Ben Rutter, Gavin Ryan, Mark Samaras, Jamie Shields, Catrin Thomas, Lindsey Tierney, Alex Tranter, Matt Trevorrow, Kevin Tristan, Ben Whitnall, and Sasha Woodward.
The new cast start on 14 October 2024.
The show currently stars Tanisha Spring (Groundhog Day The Musical) as Satine, with Matt Rixon as Harold Zidler, Ian Carlyle as Toulouse-Lautrec, Anthony Cragg as Baby Doll, and Rochelle Sherona as Arabia (maternity cover), who finish in the show on 12 October 2024.
Moulin Rouge! is now in its third year in the West End, having started its run at the Piccadilly Theatre in November 2021.
Moulin Rouge! The Musical is based on the much-loved Baz Luhrmann movie, and is set in Paris, 1899 – a world of indulgent beauty and unparalleled extravagance, of bohemians and aristocrats, of boulevardiers and reprobates. The story centres on a lovesick American writer called Christian, and Satine, the dazzling star of the Moulin Rouge nightclub.
Moulin Rouge! The Musical is currently booking in London to 18 January 2025.
The show is also touring the world from 2025, with the Moulin Rouge! The Musical UK Tour starting at the Edinburgh Playhouse, running from 22 April to 14 June 2025. Tickets go on general sale this Thursday, 5 September.
