Chichester Festival Theatre’s acclaimed production of Julian Mitchell’s play Another Country transfers to the Trafalgar Studios starring Will Attenborough and Rob Callender.
Jeremy Herrin (This House, Wolf Hall and Bring Up the Bodies) directs a superb new production of Another Country, Julian Mitchell’s award-winning play about a group of public schoolboys in 1930’s England.
A fictionalised account of the youth of such people as the infamous British spy Guy Burgess, Another Country won an Olivier Award for Play of the Year and launched the careers of Kenneth Branagh, Daniel Day-Lewis, Rupert Everett and Colin Firth.
This Chichester Festival Theatre production includes original cast members Will Attenborough and Rob Callender.
THE STORY
Another Country follows a group of public schoolboys through a summer in the early 1930s. Bennett and Judd are both outsiders, one coming to terms with his homosexuality, the other already a committed Marxist. But the Establishment has traditional ways of dealing with rebels and when a scandal rocks the school, the young men must confront their beliefs and make choices which will have a momentous impact on their lives and on the future of their country.
THE CAST
The cast includes Will Attenborough as Judd, Rob Callender as Bennett, plus Julian Wadham, Dario Coates, Cai Birdgen, Bill Milner, James Parris, Mark Donald and Mark Quartley.
