Blind Summit Theatre’s hit show The Sex Lives of Puppets is coming back to Southwark Playhouse this September 2024.
The hit Edinburgh Fringe show, which also played Southwark Playhouse Elephant earlier this year, is heading to Southwark Playhouse Borough in September, running from 4 to 28 September 2024.
Blind Summit are famous for using puppets to address unlikely subjects, and The Sex Lives of Puppets is no exception, with its hilarious and thought-provoking journey into the intriguing world of puppet desire!
The show is a multi-layered piece of theatre, offering a fun and frank exploration of puppet desire on one hand, and also engaging skilled puppetry to express human moods, fears, worries, hang-ups and desires on the other.
With sex so much at the centre of our lives, and so much at the centre of our society, Blind Summit via the puppets pose the question – why don’t we talk about it more?
The Sex Lives of Puppers is in collaboration with the London School of Hygiene, and specifically with the National Surveys of Sexual Attitudes and Lifestyles – one of the largest and most detailed scientific studies of sexual behaviour in the world.
Written and directed by Mark Down and Ben Keaton, the show stars Isobel Griffiths, Briony O’Callaghan, Dale Wylde and Mark Down.
The wider creative team includes Lighting Design by James Mckenzie, Design by Mark Down and Charlina Lucas, and Puppet Design by Russell Dean.
