More about the show

Following it run in Chichester this summer, the production will transfer to the West End’s Gielgud Theatre in London just in time for Christmas 2024.

Matthew Bourne said in a statement: “When the groundbreaking original production of Oliver! opened in 1960, the brilliant young cast was led by Ron Moody, Georgia Brown, and Barry Humphries. None of them household names at the time, but their performances would soon become the stuff of theatrical legend. I’m delighted today to be announcing our similarly brilliant and youthful cast, who will bring fresh life to Lionel Bart’s beloved masterpiece, creating an Oliver! for today, whilst staying true to the joyous spirit of its creator.”

Lionel Bart’s Olivier, Tony and Oscar award-winning musical boasts a fabulous score including Food Glorious Food, Consider Yourself, You’ve Got to Pick-a-Pocket or Two, I’d Do Anything, Oom Pah Pah and As Long As He Needs Me.

Oliver! has Book, Music and Lyrics by Lionel Bart, freely adapted from Charles Dickens’ Oliver Twist, and is revised by Cameron Mackintosh, and directed and choreographed by Matthew Bourne.
