Following acclaimed seasons at the National Theatre, Clint Dyer and Roy Williams present their extraordinary trilogy of state-of-the-nation plays, Death of England, performed together for the first time at London’s @sohoplace.
These three interconnected plays, which can be watched as a stand-alone experience or seen together, are by turns exhilarating, profoundly moving, funny, furious and deeply theatrical, as Michael, Delroy, Denise and Carly navigate the joys and challenges of what it means to be British in 2024.
These extraordinary plays star Thomas Coombes (Baby Reindeer) in Death of England: Michael, Paapa Essiedu (I May Destroy You, Gangs of London) in Death of England: Delroy; and, Erin Doherty (The Crown) and Sharon Duncan-Brewster (Dune) in Death of England: Closing Time, and directed by Clint Dyer.
The “uniquely brilliant” (Evening Standard) Death of England is set to be the theatrical sensation of the summer.
This landmark season of Death of England: The Plays runs from 15 July to 28 September 2024 @sohoplace this Summer
