Casting has been announced for new musical Fantastically Great Women Who Changed the World, which plays a limited run at The Other Palace theatre in London this summer 2024.

The show will star Meg Hateley (Mamma Mia!), Charlotte Jaconelli (Sunset Boulevard), Anelisa Lamola (Once on This Island), Aaliyah Monk (School of Rock), Georgia Grant-Anderson (Demon Dentist), and Elena Breschi (Kindertransport).

The swings are Summer Priest (Get Up, Stand Up!) and Rachel Seirian (Everybody’s Talking About Jamie), who is also assistant choreographer.

Based on suffragette relative Kate Pankhurst’s best-selling book Fantastically Great Women Who Changed The World, the new pop musical has been adapted by celebrated dramatist Chris Bush (Standing at the Sky’s Edge) and includes a high-energy, catchy soundtrack by songwriters Miranda Cooper (Girls Aloud, Sugababes) and Jennifer Decilveo (Miley Cyrus, Ben Platt).

Fantastically Great Women Who Changed the World - Casting

The musical tells the sometimes forgotten or untold histories of women who have played a major part in shaping our world, from Rosa Parks to Sacagawea, Amelia Earhart to Marie Curie, Mary Seacole to Frida Kahlo and Jane Austen, and Pankhurst’s own relative Emmeline.

The show toured the UK from 30 November 2023 to 16 March 2024, playing dates in Wimbledon, Manchester, Cardiff, Milton Keynes, Coventry, Chichester, Newcastle, Leeds and Nottingham.

Fantastically Great Women Who Changed the World is adapted by Chris Bush, with lyrics by Miranda Cooper and Chris Bush, music by Miranda Cooper and Jennifer Decilveo, and direction by Amy Hodge.

Set and Costume design is by Joanna Scotcher, Choreography by Dannielle ‘Rhimes’ Lecointe, Lighting design by Zoe Spurr, Assistant lighting design by James Stokes, Co-sound design by Carolyn Downing & Rob Bettle, Orchestrations and music production by Jennifer Decilveo, Live arranger Jen Green, and Musical supervision and musical direction by Audra Cramer. The Associate Choreographer is Jackie Kibuka, Assistant Choreographer Rachel Seirian, Additional Music Production is by Nick Coler, Assistant Musical Director is Nicola T. Chang and Casting is by Rosie Pearson of Pearson Casting.

Fantastically Great Women Who Changed the World will play a strictly limited run at The Other Palace Theatre from 20 July 2024 to 8 September 2024.
