A fascinating play about the man behind The Beatles – music entrepreneur Brian Epstein.

Epstein: The Man Who Made The Beatles is a new play with music that focuses on the enigmatic music entrepreneur Brian Epstein – the man responsible for managing The Beatles.

His stellar career as Beatles Manager made him a household name yet his controversial personal life remained completely hidden from view.

Tragically dying of an an accidental overdose in 1967 at only 32 years of age, Epstein: The Man Who Made The Beatles looks at Epstein’s drug-fueled final days alongside his extraordinary life and career, from his time at drama school to managing the world’s biggest pop group.

Written by Andrew Sherlock and directed by Jen Heyes, the play stars stage and TV actor Andrew Lancel (Coronation Street, The Bill) as Brian Epstein and Will Finlason as ‘This Boy’ – a role that embodies the new generation of teenagers emerging in 60’s Liverpool.


Andrew Lancel plays Brian Epstein. Andrew is best known for playing Frank Foster in Coronation Street. Other TV credits include Casualty, The Bill as DI Neil Manson and BBC series Cardiac Arrest.Film credits include Wide-Eyed and Legless. Theatre credits include  Certain Young Men at the Almeida and international tour of a new play Lazarus.

In March Andrew will film an episode of Casualty for the BBC and start rehearsals for ongoing international tour of a new play Lazarus before starring in the London transfer of Epstein – The Man Who Made The Beatles at Leicester Square Theatre as Brian Epstein for which he reserved unanimous rave reviews when this acclaimed production was staged in Liverpool.

Will Finlason as ‘This Boy’. Will graduated from the Manchester School of Theatre at Manchester Metropolitan University in 2012. Theatre credits include Ray in the UK Tour of Dreamboats and Petticoats, This Boy in the premiere of Epstein: The Man Who Made The Beatles in Liverpool.
