The Menier Chocolate Factory in London has announced revised casting for its forthcoming production of Jerry Herman revue Jerry’s Girls.
Joining recently announced Olivier Award winner Cassidy Janson (& Juliet, Beautiful), and Julie Yammanee (Bonnie and Clyde, Priscilla Queen of the Desert), will be Jessica Martin (Me and My Girl, Mack and Mabel, Elf the Musical).
Previously announced Lyn Paul (Calendar Girls, Blood Brothers) has withdrawn from the show for personal reasons.
Jerry’s Girls will be directed by Hannah Chissick (Eugenius, Side Show, Sunday in the Park with George), with musical supervision and arrangements by Tony Award-winner Sarah Travis (Sweeney Todd) for an all-female band. Choreography will be by Olivier Award-winner Matt Cole (Newsies, Fiddler on the Roof), with set and costume designs by Paul Farnsworth and lighting design by Philip Gladwell.
Jerry’s Girls features most of Broadway legend Jerry Herman’s classic show-stoppers, covering all of his greatest hit musicals including Hello, Dolly!, Mame, Parade, La Cage Aux Folles, Mack & Mabel and more.
Currently playing at the Menier Chocolate Factory is Power of Sail starring Julian Ovenden, Tanya Franks and Giles Terera, until 12 May.
There’s more Jerry Herman coming to London this summer, with Dominic Cooke’s revival of Hello, Dolly! at the London Palladium, starring Imelda Staunton.
Jerry’s Girls is playing at the Menier Chocolate Factory from 18 May to 29 June 2024.
