Jamie Lloyd’s new production of Romeo & Juliet has announced further casting to join Spider-Man star Tom Holland as Romeo.
Francesca Amewudah-Rivers (Bad Education, School Girls; Or, The African Mean Girls Play) is set to play Juliet, with Freema Agyeman (Doctor Who, Sense8, God of Carnage) as Nurse, Michael Balogun (Sherwood, The Lehman Trilogy) as Friar, Tomiwa Edun (Macbeth, The Deep Blue Sea) as Capulet, Mia Jerome (Treasure Island) as Montague, Daniel Quinn-Toye as Paris, Ray Sesay (Doctor Who, Anna Karenina) as Tybalt, Nima Taleghani (Cyrano de Bergerac, Hope Has A Happy Meal) as Benvolio, Joshua-Alexander Williams as Mercutio, and Callum Heinrich (Mamma Mia!) and Kody Mortimer (Sunset Boulevard) as Camera Operators.

Actor Tom Holland said in a statement: “Beyond excited to announce our cast for Romeo and Juliet. I can’t wait to get started and I know we’ll create something really special together.”
Actor Francesca Amewudah-Rivers, who will play Juliet, said: “I’m so grateful to be making my West End debut as Juliet with The Jamie Lloyd Company. It’s a dream to be joining this team of incredible artists with Jamie at the helm. I’m excited to bring a fresh energy to this story alongside Tom, and to welcome new audiences to the theatre.”

The Jamie Lloyd Company’ is also offering 5,000 tickets at £25 for under 30s, key workers and those receiving government benefits, with these seats on sale on Wednesday 10 April at 10am.

Romeo & Juliet is playing at the West End’s Duke of York’s Theatre from 11 May to 3 August 2024.
