Lead casting has been announced for the Broadway premiere of new musical Tammy Faye.
Katie Brayben and Andrew Rannells will reprise their acclaimed performances from the London run when it begins performances at the Palace Theatre this October. Brayben received an Olivier Award for her performance as Tammy Faye with Rannells’ earning a nomination for his turn as her husband, Jim Bakker.
Directed by Rupert Goold, Elton John, Jake Shears and James Graham’s Olivier nominated musical Tammy Faye will play at the Nederlander Organization’s newly renovated Palace Theatre on Broadway from 19 October with an opening night set for 14 November 2024.
Based on US televangelist Tammy Faye Bakker, the show features music by Elton John, lyrics by Scissor Sisters’ Shears and book by James Graham (Dear England, Best of Enemies, Ink).
The Broadway creative team will feature: Tom Deering (music supervision, arrangements and additional music); Deering and Mark Dickman (orchestrations); Bunny Christie (scenic design); Katrina Lindsay (costume design); Neil Austin (lighting design); Bobby Aitken (sound design); and Finn Ross (video design).

Tammy Faye had its London premiere at the Almedia theatre in 2022 where it starred Katie Brayben as Tammy Faye and Andrew Rannells (Currently starring in Gutenberg The Musical) as Jim Bakker. It scored solid reviews from the critics.
The show is produced on Broadway by Rocket Stage, Greene Light Stage, and James L. Nederlander.
