National Theatre at Home, the streaming platform of the National Theatre, has announced a new batch of shows are going to be added to their service.
Shows include recent hit West End musical The Little Big Things, which recently scored 3 nominations for this year’s Olivier Awards.
The show will be available from Spring 2024, with exact dates to be announced.
Also coming to the platform is the National’s current hit revival of Dodie Smith’s Dear Octopus starring Lindsay Duncan and directed by Emily Burns; and the National’s forthcoming new play in the Dorfman Theatre, Sarah Gordon’s Underdog: The Other Other Brontë starring Gemma Whelan.
National Theatre at Home is also adding the post-Covid, award-winning revival of Constellations, that featured four different casts: Sheila Atim and Ivanno Jeremiah, Peter Capaldi and Zoë Wanamaker, Omari Douglas and Russell Tovey, and Anna Maxwell Martin and Chris O’Dowd; and Gecko Theatre’s hit play Kin.
Currently on National Theatre at Home are productions including Phaedra, The Corn is Green, Angels in America, The Father and the Assassin and The Effect.
V&A Performance Festival
In other screening news, the V&A in London has announced that it will be showing free screenings of shows in April 2024.
The screenings are part of its V&A Performance Festival 2024, a ten-day programme celebrating theatre and performance that will include live productions, screenings, talks, tours and workshops.
The theme this year is ‘Remastered’, exploring transformation, from reinvention to reimagining the past and inspiring the future.
Free screenings from the National Video Archive of Performance will include the Donmar Warehouses’ all-female production of Julius Caesar starring Harriet Walter; Caryl Churchill’s play A Number, including the original production starring Michael Gambon and Daniel Craig, and The Old Vic’s recent revival starring Paapa Essiedu and Lennie James; and the award-winning revival of Accidental Death of an Anarchist starring Daniel Rigby.
