Full casting has been announced for Harold Pinter’s The Lover / The Collection at the Ustinov Studio, Theatre Royal Bath.

Already announced is David Morrissey (Sherwood, State of Play, The Walking Dead, Britannia), who will be joined by Mathew Horne (Gavin and Stacey, Noises Off), Ian Charleson Award winner Claudie Blakley (Lark Rise to Candleford, Father Brown, Consent), and Elliot Barnes-Worrell (The Killing Kind, Small Island).

Directed by Lindsay Posner, The Lover / The Collection will play the Ustinov Studio in Bath from 22 March to 20 April 2024.

In The Lover, David Morrissey plays Richard, Mathew Horne is John and Claudie Blakley is Sarah; and in The Collection, David Morrissey is Harry, Mathew Horne is James, Claudie Blakley is Stella, and Elliot Barnes-Worrell is Bill.

Harold Pinter’s double bill of two works showcase his darkly comic perception of love, marriage and relationships. The Lover is a quirky, tense and intriguing glimpse at the private intricacies of modern marriage; The Collection, a comic play of suspense and sexual jealousy between two couples, sparked by an anonymous phonecall in the dead of night.

Joining Posner in the creative team are Peter McKintosh (Set and Costume Design), Paul Pyant (Lighting Design), Gregory Clarke (Sound Design), Ed Lewis (Composer), Ginny Shiller CDG (Casting Director) and George Jibson (Associate Director).

Director Lindsay Posner is also directing Dominic West in a new production of Arthur Miller’s A View From the Bridge, which is now playing in Bath and is coming to the West End’s Theatre Royal Haymarket in May. Book tickets here.
