A new stage adaptation of The Other Boleyn Girl will premiere at Chichester Festival Theatre starring ER’s Alex Kingston, Industry’s Freya Mavor and Lucy Phelps.

Based on Philippa Gregory’s internationally best-selling novel, The Other Boleyn Girl is a brilliant recreation of intrigue at the Tudor court – a racy and riveting drama of events that changed the course of English history. Award winning playwright Mike Poulton has adapted the piece – his acclaimed stage adaptations include Uncle Vanya, Fortune’s Fool, Wolf Hall and Bring Up the Bodies (RSC, West End and Broadway). Lucy Bailey (Witness for the Prosecution) will direct the play which plays on the main stage at Chichester from 19 April to 11 May 2024.

Alex Kingston (Doctor Who, ER) will play Lady Elizabeth, Freya Mavor (Industry, Skins) plays Anne Boleyn and Lucy Phelps (Much Ado About Nothing Shakespeare’s Globe, Measure for Measure RSC) is cast as Mary Boleyn.

The cast includes: Jacob Ifan (Cuffs, A Discovery of Witches) as William Carey, Kemi-Bo Jacobs (The Ocean at the End of the Lane NT/West End, The Winter’s Tale RSC) as Queen Katherine, Peter Losasso (Mrs Warren’s Profession, Twelfth Night) as Francis Weston, Lily Nichol (Imperium RSC, Maternal) as Jane Parker and Andrew Woodall (South Downs/The Browning Version, Fracked! CFT) as the Duke of Norfolk; with Chris Green (musician and musical director) and Sarah Harrison (musician).

The Other Boleyn Girl runs from 19 April – 11 May at Festival Theatre, Chichester.
