Production images and behind-the-scenes rehearsal photos are in for Lucy Kirkwood’s new playThe Human Body starring Keeley Hawes, Jack Davenport and Pearl Mackie.
The Human Body is directed by Michael Longhurst and Ann Yee, and forms part of Longhurst’s final season at the iconic London venue.
The play is set in 1948 and centres on GP and Labour party councillor Iris Elcock (Keeley Hawes), working to implement Nye Bevan’s new National Health Service Act. At home she is a mother, and wife to a fellow GP, an ex-Navy man scarred by the war. But a chance meeting with George Blythe (Jack Davenport), a local boy who has made it to Hollywood, turns her quiet, certain world upside down.
The cast also features Siobhán Redmond, Tom Goodman-Hill, Flora Jacoby Richardson, and Audrey Kattan.

The Human Body runs at the Donmar Warehouse from 16 February to 13 April 2024.
