First-look production photos have dropped of Player Kings, coming to the Noel Coward Theatre in London starring Ian McKellen.

The photos include an exclusive first-look of Ian McKellen in costume as Sir John Falstaff in the new play.

This new adaptation of Shakespeare’s Henry IV Parts 1 and 2 is directed and adapted by Robert Icke, and stars Ian McKellen as Sir John Falstaff, Toheeb Jimoh (Ted Lasso, Romeo and Juliet) as Hal, and Richard Coyle (Ink, Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore) as King Henry IV.

Player Kings will run at the Noel Coward Theatre from 1 April to 22 June 2024, and ahead of London the show starts tomorrow at Manchester Opera House (14 to 23 March 2024).

Joining Robert Icke in the creative team are Set and Costume Designer Hildegard Bechtler; Lighting Designer Lee Curran; Sound Designer Gareth Fry; Casting Director Julia Horan CDG; Fight Director Kev McCurdy; Associate Costume Designer Johanna Coe; Hair and Make-up Designer Susanna Peretz; and Associate Directors Jack Bradfield and Lizzie Manwaring.

Player Kings is running at the Noel Coward Theatre from 1 April 2024.
